【Concept: The Architecture of Blossoms】
The Sahogawa River is one of Nara’s most iconic cherry blossom locations. While many capture its breadth, this piece focuses on the “density of spring.” As a designer with 25 years of experience, I utilized a telephoto lens to compress the layers of over a thousand cherry trees, creating a visual tapestry where the blossoms feel almost tactile.
This is not just a landscape; it’s a structural study of light and petals, designed to bring the overwhelming beauty of a Japanese spring into a single, focused frame.

【Technical Excellence: The Power of Medium Format and Vintage Nikkor】
Captured with the Fujifilm GFX 50S II, this artwork leverages the massive 51.4MP sensor to resolve the intricate details of each petal. The soul of this image, however, lies in the Nikkor 180mm f/2.8—a legendary telephoto lens known for its exceptional sharpness and buttery-smooth “bokeh.”
By shooting at f/2.8, the lens creates a shallow depth of field that separates the subject from the background with a dreamy, ethereal glow. The compression effect of the 180mm focal length brings the distant blossoms closer, surrounding the viewer in a dense, shimmering cloud of pink.
